Lavender Lemonade Spritz (Printable version)

Floral lavender syrup blends with zesty lemonade and sparkling wine for a refreshing summer drink.

# What you need:

→ Lavender Syrup

01 - 1/2 cup water
02 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
03 - 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender

→ Lemonade

04 - 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (approximately 4 lemons)
05 - 1/2 cup cold water
06 - 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup

→ For Serving

07 - 1 cup ice cubes
08 - 1 1/2 cups chilled sparkling wine or prosecco
09 - Lemon slices for garnish
10 - Fresh lavender sprigs for garnish

# Steps to follow:

01 - In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, and dried lavender. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat, cover, and let steep for 10 minutes. Strain through fine mesh to remove lavender solids and allow syrup to cool completely before use.
02 - In a pitcher, combine freshly squeezed lemon juice, cold water, and honey or agave syrup. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated and sweetener is fully dissolved.
03 - Fill four glasses with ice cubes. Add 2 tablespoons of cooled lavender syrup and 1/4 cup of prepared lemonade to each glass.
04 - Pour approximately 1/3 cup of chilled sparkling wine or prosecco into each glass. Stir gently to combine all components without over-mixing.
05 - Top each glass with lemon slices and fresh lavender sprigs if desired. Serve immediately while beverage is properly chilled.

# Expert tips:

01 -
  • It tastes like you spent way more time on it than the actual 20 minutes it takes.
  • You can make the syrup ahead and become the person who always has something special ready for guests.
  • The lavender doesn't overpower—it just whispers, which is honestly the best compliment a floral ingredient can get.
02 -
  • Using non-culinary lavender is the quickest way to make this taste like you're drinking a craft project instead of a cocktail—I learned this the painful way so you don't have to.
  • If your lemonade is too sweet, the lavender disappears completely, so taste as you go and remember that the syrup adds more sweetness.
03 -
  • The moment you remove the syrup from heat and cover the pan, you're locking in all that lavender magic—don't skip this step or you'll lose half the flavor to steam.
  • Taste the lemonade before you assemble anything, because adjusting sweetness in the pitcher is infinitely easier than trying to fix it in individual glasses.
