# Expert tips:

01 -
  • Basil and strawberries make the drink taste like summer in a glass, and your friends will notice.
  • It’s a beautiful, festive mocktail you’ll want to bring out at every gathering because it always sparks conversation.
02 -
  • If you rush the chilling step, the basil can taste harsh and the fruit flavors won’t fully blend.
  • Swapping club soda for tonic water one time made the drink bitter—stick with soda for best results.
03 -
  • Chilling the drink longer makes the basil smoother and melds flavors beautifully.
  • The secret is muddling the basil and citrus together—don’t skip that step, it’s what makes the flavor pop.
